What I tell the world:
My major goal as an ICAM major at UCSD is to participate in developing an innovative approach to artistic expression that will evolve and is evolving as the fine arts become integrated and intertwined with 21st century media and computer technology.
Though the arts may find a new technological framework, the essence of the human condition that will be expressed, and the messages conveyed, are ages old. I want to participate in the research and development of new artistic tools, while focusing on the psychological and spiritual task of creating new innovative art that brings meaning, happiness, and joy into people’s lives. I hope to create music that is exciting and emotionally provocative.
Career success and prosperity are important aspects of what I hope to achieve, and in order to accomplish my goals, I must strive to attain the highest standards in the theoretical and applied arts, technology, and computer sciences. Most of all, I want to use the knowledge I gain from this major to become, and be, a better artist, and to create art that leaves a lasting impression on people and the world around me: Art that helps put my life, and the lives of my fellow human beings in a different, and I hope better and more hopeful perspective.
